Everyday Manners

As the holidays approach, Moms and Dads start thinking about...MANNERS! As the relatives descend there are many gatherings to attend, late Fall is the perfect time to refresh some of the standards. With that in mind, the Emily Post Institute has created an adorable early manners book, Emily's Everyday Manners. Perfect for 3-7 year olds, this books touches on the highlights of day to day good behavior. Most importantly the book discusses why we use our manners--to make our family feel loved and respected or to help us maintain our friendships yet the author, Peggy Post, avoids preaching to children. The illustrations are friendly and approachable which underscores the tone of the book which feels much more like a picture-book story than a manual of behavior. It's a great addition to any family's bookshelf--especially the back page for grown-ups!! -Rhiannon
