Humpty Dumpty for Grown-Ups?
Maybe some of you have noticed this trend also; Childrens' books that are actually for grown-ups. Books that may be visually gorgeous, contain excellent vocabulary and are plot, rather than character-driven. Beautiful, beautiful books. Only problem is, kids don't like them! So it is with Etienne Delessert's version of the nursery classic, Humpty Dumpty. This book is just beautiful and Delessert does a lovely job rounding out Humpty as a person, however the vocabulary and (some of the concepts introduced) won't reach a child until they are well-past picture book age. I would give this one a pass. -Rhiannon
