Stanley Mows the Lawn

by Craig Frazier
Our Children's Librarian recommended this book as a supplement to "Z" week in Kindergarten. Before opening the book, I thought this would be an odd choice. It makes perfect sense, though, since Stanley learns to mow his huge lawn in zig-zags to avoid hitting Hank the Snake. The zigs and zags give your reading buddy an ample chance to see the letter Z in action, and the ending shows that Stanley's kindness is appreciated aesthetically as well as morally. --Juno
