a boy and his bunny

by Sean Bryan; illustrations by Tom Murphy

For a while now, I have been looking for That Magic Book, the one that would push my emerging reader into the world of Real Readers. We may have found it in a boy and his bunny.
The font is the right size (and--bonus--the size increases to denote emphasis), the text is easy to read, and the story is funny. It all worked. My newly-minted reader needed a little help with some of the words, but the simple-yet-effective illustrations gave him the assistance he needed.
