Help! by Holly Keller

Expect to see this one at alot of birthday parties...

The Police Cloud by Christop Nieman

Great graphic illustrations decorate this charming "finding yourself" tale. The text truly speaks to children at their own level(without pandering). The illustrations perfectly underscore the story, allowing the children to infer what might happen next without any over-explanations.

Looking for Loons by Jennifer Lloyd

I'll admit it--I judged this book by it's cover!! Having spent many an autumn morning of my childhood on Lake Winnepesauke in New Hampshire, I immediately fell in love with Kirsti Anne Wakelin's gorgeous watercolors. The story is lovely also but for me, this book was all about the beautiful serene paintings, many from unusual perpective. Reminiscent of Robert McCloskey's "Time of Wonder", this one is a "don't miss".

Pebble A Story About Belonging by Susan Milord

This is another one of those kids books that's really for adults. The illustrations are lovely--reminding me of my native New England beaches--but ultimately, this book is over the heads of those in the picture book age group and a 8-12 year old who would take the message to heart may find the picture book format a disappointment.
That said, as an adult I did enjoy it and I would recommend it to a teacher looking to open a classroom discussion.
