Sophie's Squash by Pat Zietlow Miller

Sophie's Squash is a very cute, if slightly strange, picture book about a little girl and her attachment to a Butternut Squash. The squash makes a perfect doll, until it starts to rot. Sophie plants her squash and eventually she is rewarded with 2 new squashes to play with. The book is amusing, and kids will love seeing the very imaginative things Sophie does with her Squash. They'll also learn a little about planting seeds and how things grow.
